The fastest way to get an accurate quote, and material that runs right the first time, is to send a complete spec. Here's a checklist of what we'll ask about, and why each detail matters.
1. The material
Tell us the grade (for example kraft, newsprint, poly-coated, VCI, glass interleave, linerboard or SBS) and the basis weight or thickness if you know it. If you don't, a sample or a photo of the label from your current supplier works too.
2. Rolls: slitting and rewinding
- Width: the finished roll width, and how tight the tolerance needs to be.
- Core size: inside diameter (commonly 3" or 6") and whether you need cores returned or a specific core material.
- Roll diameter or length: the maximum outside diameter your equipment can hold, or the footage you need per roll.
- Wind direction: whether the coated or treated side faces in or out.
- Splices: whether splices are allowed, and how they should be marked.
3. Sheets: sheeting
- Size: length and width, plus tolerance.
- Grain direction: if it matters for how the sheet lays or folds.
- Count: sheets per bundle and bundles per pallet, or a stack height for bulk sheets.
4. Die-cut parts
Send a drawing, a sample part or even a sketch with dimensions. Note any holes, notches or slots, and how many pieces you use per month.
5. Packaging and shipping
- How it ships: bundled and labeled, bulk stacked or rolls palletized.
- Pallet limits: maximum pallet height and weight for your dock or racking.
- Labels: your part numbers, PO numbers or barcodes on each bundle or roll.
6. Quantity and timing
Your estimated annual usage, typical order size and how often you reorder. This helps us plan material and keep lead times short.
